Among other things, police are now illegally arresting lawyers so they can't represent protesters. As of now, cops in Charlotte, NC have threatened private attorneys with arrest, and actually literally arrested public defenders.

Pay attention here. Police malfeasance is not a new problem (oh boy is it not), but this is a HUGE escalation from the usual forms of malfeasance.
