I really, really hate when newspapers do this:

Spoiler: it is not in fact heading our way. It will cross Earth's orbit on the opposite side of the Sun.

I mean, yes it is, but that's because of global warming and ocean acidification and other unsexy things that require unsexy mundane solutions. As opposed to a killer asteroid, which is basically the one world-threatening problem we can solve by shooting it.

Or blow it up with nukes. You never know who will volunteer to stay and do the suicide mission.
